Police hunt men involved in supermarket hammer attack

Police in Manchester are hunting for four men involved in a violent attack on two supermarket employees.

The masked men forced their way into the KP Supermarket in Harpurhey on Saturday evening as the two employees were locking up.

They attacked the staff members with a hammer, an axe and a crowbar before escaping with "a large quantity of cash", a police spokesman said.

He said the two injured men were treated in hospital and were "extremely shocked" by the incident.
