Wigan man who died after being pushed named as Michael John Warhurst

A Wigan man who died after being pushed over in the street outside a bar has been named by police.

A post-mortem examination found Michael John Warhurst, 60, of Scott Lane, died as a result of a head injury.

Police said it was believed the incident took place outside Chicago Rock Cafe, King Street, at about 01:30 BST on Monday.

A 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police confirmed Mr Warhurst's head struck the floor after he fell backwards onto the road after being pushed.

Det Insp Andy Cunliffe said: "There are still a number of people who were there that night who we are keen to trace."
