Boy, 14, run over and killed in Salford

A teenage pedestrian has been run over and killed in Salford.

Cameron Cash, 14, from Swinton, was knocked down by a car on the A580 East Lancs Road shortly after 20:00 BST on Saturday.

He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries following the accident, between Eccles Road and Worsley Road.

Police said a 25-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, was "de-arrested" following inquiries at the scene.
