Manchester city centre fire tackled by 60 firefighters

About 60 firefighters have been tackling a large fire at a three storey building near Manchester city centre.

Fire crews were called to the disused site on Derby Street, Cheetham Hill, at 20:10 BST on Sunday, with the second floor and roof of the building alight.

Some firefighters remain at the scene damping down, with eight fire engines attending at the height of the blaze.

A Greater Manchester Fire Service spokesman said it is not believed anyone was injured during the fire.

Derby Street remains partially closed near the junction with Cheetham Hill Road due to the incident.
