Man held over attack on 80-year-old in Old Trafford

A man has been arrested in connection with an attack on an 80-year-old who was kicked and punched in his car in Greater Manchester.

The elderly man was at the junction of Kings Road and Upper Chorlton Road in Old Trafford when a man opened the door and assaulted him on 29 July.

The attacker walked off and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of assault after he walked into a police station in Salford.

He is due to be questioned later.
