More time to question son over parents' murder in Sale

Detectives have been given more time to question a County Durham man on suspicion of murdering his parents.

Police found the bodies of Bob Seddon, 68, and his wife Patricia, 65, at their home in Clough Avenue, Sale, on Friday. They had both been shot.

Nic Seddon, 45, was arrested at his home in Seaham the following day.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We have been given another 36 hours to question a man arrested on suspicion of murder."

Officers were called to the house at about 16:35 BST on Friday.

A post-mortem examination confirmed the pair died of gunshot wounds.
