The body of a man has been found at a school in Manchester.

Police were called to King of Kings school on Dantzic Street, Collyhurst, at 07:20 BST after the body was found inside the building.

The school has been closed while inquiries are carried out.

Det Ch Insp Mark Roters said: "We are in the very early stages of our investigation and we are trying to establish the circumstances that led to this man's death."

He added: "Obviously, this discovery will raise concerns with parents and the local community but we are doing all we can to find out what has happened.

"There will be a police presence at the scene and I would ask anyone who has any concerns to speak to their local officer."

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police.
