Police investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a wheelie bin are urging anyone who saw a bin being moved at an unusual time to call them.

The body of Steven Rourke, 26, was found by two men walking on land off Bickershaw Lane in Wigan on Sunday.

Three people aged 19, 21 and 24 were arrested on suspicion of murder and are still being questioned by police.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have seen saw the bin being pushed up Bickershaw Lane to get in touch.

Mr Rourke, who is also known as Steven Lynch, was last seen by his family at 18:45 GMT on 21 March.

Police are appealing to anyone who saw him between that time and 09:20 BST on the morning of 25 March, when his body was found, to contact them.

Det Ch Insp Jon Chadwick, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Steven's death, and our thoughts remain with his family at this difficult time.

"I want to make it clear that our investigation is being carried out in a thorough and careful manner so we can best establish the circumstances leading to his death.

"Anyone who may have seen or heard bins being moved around the Bickershaw Lane area at an unusual time should contact us."
