Brothers in court over decapitated body case
John Grainger was 32 and lived in Stockport
Two brothers have appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who was found decapitated and burnt.
The body of John Grainger, 32, was found in Wellington Street, Stockport on Thursday. His head was found nearby.
A post-mortem examination found Mr Grainger died from a shotgun wound to the head and another head injury.
Joseph Jenkins, 29, of Covent Gardens, Stockport and Anthony Jenkins, 31, of no fixed abode, were remanded in custody by Stockport magistrates.
The pair were brought to the dock separately and both spoke only to confirm their personal details.
They are due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday.
Mr Grainger's body was found on a verge by fire crews tackling a blaze opposite the Gala Casino, not far from the town's magistrates' court.
His family said: "John was a cheeky and loveable character who was a fantastic brother and uncle to his niece and nephews.
"He wanted to become a dad one day and was looking forward to what the future held."
