Bolton home plan for Victorian chimney
Plans have been submitted to build a family home high up an old Victorian factory chimney in Bolton.
The 79m (260ft) high chimney was built in 1863 for Halliwell Bleach Works, but has been obsolete since the 1970s.
Architectural designers Robin Rowles and Tony Lang have submitted plans to build a house halfway up the chimney to Bolton Council.
If plans get the go-ahead, the sky-high home could be completed in 18 months.
