Lorry driver charged over Oldham embankment crash

The crash in Shaw Police were called to the scene on Friday morning

A lorry driver whose vehicle crashed down an embankment in Oldham has been charged with drink driving.

Police found the vehicle when they were called to Milnrow Road at Jubilee Bend in Shaw, Oldham, just after 0600 BST.

The road has been closed and is expected to remain shut for most of the day while the vehicle is recovered.

The 48-year-old driver, who is from Blackpool, has been charged with driving with excess alcohol and driving without due care and attention.

He will appear at Oldham Magistrates' Court on 25 October.
