A second man has been arrested in connection with the murder of an exiled Pakistani politician who was attacked on his way home from work in London.

Dr Imran Farooq was stabbed several times and bludgeoned with a brick after he was ambushed by two men outside his Edgware home, four years ago.

The 30-year-old was arrested in Waltham Forest, north-east London. He has been bailed until November.

In June last year, a 53-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Iftikhar Hussain, the nephew of the Pakistani political party MQM's (Muttahida Qaumi Movement) London-based leader Altaf Hussain, was arrested at Heathrow Airport and remains on bail until October.

Dr Farooq was a prominent member of the MQM and had been living in exile in the UK for more than a decade when he died.

Met Police detectives want to speak to two Pakistani men - Moshin Ali Syed, 29, and Muhammad Kashif Khan Kamran, 35 - in connection with the murder.

Police believe they left the UK on the evening of his murder.

A £20,000 reward is available for information leading to the prosecution of his killers.

Police believe he was attacked by up to two men who had been seen near his house in Green Lane at various times, apparently watching him.
