Car driver killed in crash with bus in Croydon

A woman has died in a crash between a car and a bus in Croydon, south London in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 39-year-old car driver suffered fatal injuries in the collision on Homestead Way, the Metropolitan Police said.

Officers were called at around midnight but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 01:00 BST.

No injuries were suffered by the bus driver or the "small number" of passengers on board, police said.
