The suspected shooting of a man in south London is being investigated by the Metropolitan police.

Officers were initially called to a reported disturbance in Burgess Park, Camberwell on Friday following sightings of a fight and a firearm.

They were then alerted to a man, believed to be aged in his 20s, attending a south London hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The man's injures are not thought to be life threatening, police said.

The disturbance is being investigated by the Trident gang unit, the force confirmed.
