Scottish independence could 'polarise' politics

An independent Scotland could have an impact on the capital, campaigners have said.
Ian Murray MP, from the Better Together Campaign, said history showed that taking Scottish MPs out of parliament could increase the "extremities of victories" for the Conservatives and reduce those of the Labour party.
"It polarises politics a little bit as we know London votes Labour in significant numbers," he said.
Registered voters in Scotland will be asked the referendum question "Should Scotland be an independent country?" on 18 September.
BBC London's political editor Tom Donovan spoke to Mr Murray, Prof Tony Travers, from the London School of Economics, Pat Kane, from the Yes Scotland campaign, and Labour MP for Islington South and Finsbury, Emily Thornberry.
