A 68-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating historical sex abuse at a private school in south-west London.

The man was held on suspicion of sexual assault on a child as part of Operation Winthorpe. He was bailed until October.

Operation Winthorpe is looking into claims of sexual abuse at St Paul's School in Barnes and its preparatory school Colet Court.

He is the sixth person to be arrested as part of the operation.

Former Colet Court classics master Anthony Fuggle, 57, from Sandy Lane, Surrey, has been charged in relation to the operation.

He was arrested in June and is due to appear at Kingston Crown Court in September charged with 11 offences of making indecent images of children and six counts of possessing indecent images of children.

Three other people previously arrested, two men aged 67 and 65, and a 52-year-old woman remain on bail until September.

A 59-year-old man was also arrested, but was later released with no further action.
