Pair face trial accused of helping to fund terrorism

A man and a woman face trial in the new year accused of being involved in funding terrorism.

Anton Atkins, 30, of Woolwich Common, south-east London, and Hana Gul Khan, 22, of Meyrick Road, north-west London, appeared at the Old Bailey charged under the Terrorism Act 2000.

The alleged offences happened between November 2012 and July last year and on or around 9 July last year in London.

A provisional trial date of 12 January was set.

Mr Atkins is accused of arranging to make available £1,600 and a pair of combat trousers "knowing or having reasonable cause to suspect that it would or might be used for the purpose of terrorism".

Ms Khan faces similar charges of entering into a plan to give £600 on 15 June last year and a further £500 on 3 July last year.

They remain on conditional bail.
