Woman dies in South Harrow house fire

A woman has died in a house fire in north-west London.

London Fire Brigade was called to the semi-detached property in St Margaret's Avenue, South Harrow, at about 00:45 BST.

The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was brought out of the first floor of the property by firefighters, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the death was being treated as unexplained.

The woman has not been formally identified and officers are trying to trace her next of kin, the Met Police said.
