Man charged with stealing injured woman's bag

A man has been charged with taking an injured woman's handbag while she lay unconscious in central London.

A moped involved in a smash and grab raid in Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane knocked down the woman in Cambridge Circus in the early hours of 10 June.

Following the collision, the woman was unconscious for a time and taken to hospital with leg injuries.

Craig Edwards, 34, of Great Chapel Street, will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court charged with theft.

    Talks will take place later in an attempt to avoid a 24 hour strike on the the Northern Line scheduled for next Monday in a row over a driver being sacked.

    The talks at the conciliation service ACAS will involve both Transport for London and the Rail, Maritime and Transport Union.

    A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman in a street in Ilford.

    A manhunt is under way after a man and woman in their 50s were found stabbed to death in a house in Fetcham, near Leatherhead.

    Surrey Police are trying to trace Viktoras Bruzas who they said was now likely to be in Sussex although he also had links to south-east London. Another man in his 30s has been arrested in Walton-on-Thames on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

    One of London's top anti-terror officers is warning that some extremists are using welfare payments and student loans to bankroll terrorism in Syria and across the world.

    The Telegraph reports that the Met's Assistant Commander Terri Nicholson believes women who are not known to the police are also being used to smuggle money out of the country.
