CCTV issued after woman attacked while asleep on train

CCTV images have been released of a man police want to speak to after a woman was sexually assaulted as she slept on a train.

The 25-year-old victim boarded the 00:13 BST Charing Cross to Hayes service in London and fell asleep.

She woke up to find a man assaulting her, pushed him away and fled the train at West Wickham when it arrived a few moments later.

Officers have been analysing CCTV from the train and railway stations.

Det Con Andy Parkinson from British Transport Police said they believed the man might have vital information.

He said: "We take all reports of sexual assault extremely seriously and are doing all we can to catch the individual responsible."

The assault happened on Monday 28 April but police have only just released the CCTV images.
