Woman dies after collision with black cab

A woman who was struck by a black cab on Westminster Bridge in central London has died.

Police were called to the bridge at 01:53 BST on Sunday following reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a taxi.

The 18-year-old Russian woman was taken to hospital in a critical condition. She died later, the Met Police said.

Officers from Catford serious collision investigation unit have appealed for witnesses. No arrests have been made.

The cab driver stopped at the scene.

The woman's next of kin have been made aware of the but formal identification and a post-mortem examination are yet to be scheduled.
