The repair parties for broken appliances

18 February 2014 Last updated at 19:05 GMT

Are you a person who throws away their broken phone, laptop or camera rather than get it fixed?

The Restart Project aims to encourage people in the capital to use their electronics for longer by learning repair and maintenance skills.

BBC London's Charlotte Franks visited one of the projects repair events and spoke to Friederike Hanisch, from the Restart Project, and Justin Greenaway, from recycling specialist Sweep Kuusakosi Ltd.
