Three boys have appeared in court after police charged them with murder before their alleged victim had died.

Rashid Naeem, 29, was stabbed at Queen's Market in east London on Sunday. He died earlier in hospital.

The boys, two aged 14 and a 16-year-old, appeared at Stratford Youth Court jointly charged with his murder.

Police said they took the step of accusing the boys of murder while Mr Naeem was still alive because he was unlikely to survive his injuries.

The teenagers appeared in court in two separate hearings after the court heard one of the 14-year-olds had not been given his medication for his attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. He appeared shortly after his co-accused.

The teenagers were remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday.
