Two teenagers have been charged with the murder of a vulnerable man who was stabbed in a west London street.

The 17-year-olds are accused of killing Dean Mayley, 24, who was attacked in Greenford on 7 February.

The pair, who were remanded in custody when they appeared at a youth court, are also charged with conspiracy to rob and possession of an offensive weapon.

Mr Mayley, of Northolt, west London, died in hospital. He was on his way to see his uncle when he was attacked.

The victim had a developmental disorder which left him with moderate learning difficulties and a mental age of nine.

It meant he rarely left home alone, except to visit relatives.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a single stab wound to the chest.

The two teenagers will next appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday for as bail hearing.
