17 January 2014 Last updated at 01:12 GMT

A primary school in Dagenham has banned children from bringing in sugary drinks as part of a health drive.

Some parents have criticised Valance Primary School after dinner ladies confiscated fruit drinks from pupils and served water instead.

The school was unavailable for comment, but in a letter to parents they said they had always promoted and encouraged healthy lifestyles.

BBC London's Ayshea Buksh spoke to Matthew Cole, director of Public Health at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, and dietician Ana-Kristina Skrapac.
