Prime Minister David Cameron has said there is no need to "panic" about the timing of a decision on how to expand airport capacity in south-east England.
Sir Howard Davies' commission has set out an "appraisal framework" timetable and it will make a final recommendation after the next election.
Mr Cameron told BBC London that Sir Howard's interim report dispelled some myths that Britain is "falling behind now by not having extra capacity".
BBC London's Riz Lateef asked the prime minister if a proposal for an airport in the Thames Estuary was being considered.
