A man has been charged with the murder of a suspected gang boss who was shot dead almost two years ago.

Ali Armagan, 32, was killed at close range as he sat in an Audi A8 car near Turnpike Lane in February 2012.

On Tuesday, the Met Police charged 27-year-old Omer Murat, of no fixed abode, with murder.

He was arrested at St Pancras Station after returning on a train from France. He will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court later.

Three men have already been sentenced after they pleaded guilty to conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm in connection with the murder of Mr Armagan.
