Men rescued from roof of Muswell Hill property in fire

Two men were rescued from the roof of a terraced house in north London as fire swept through the building.

The men were rescued by ladder shortly before 01:30 GMT and taken to hospital suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.

London Fire Brigade said it was investigating the cause of the blaze at the house on Greenham Road in Muswell Hill.

The blaze destroyed the basement and damaged two floors and the loft.
