Islington shooting: Man critical after street attack

A man is in a critical condition after being shot in a north London street.

Police, including firearms officers and London Ambulance, were called at 10:05 GMT to St John Street, Islington, following reports of a shooting.

A Met Police spokesman said a man in his 50s was taken to hospital suffering a gunshot wound.

The Trident Gang Crime Command has been informed. Police are appealing for witnesses.
