South Croydon train fire: 100 evacuated from Southern train

About 100 passenger fled a fire that broke out on a train at South Croydon station.

In a statement, Southern Trains said the London Victoria to Gatwick Airport service had reports of smoke underneath one of the carriages at 09:20 GMT.

The cause of the fire is said to be an electrical contact problem.
