Brentford hit-and-run crash victim killed

Two people have been arrested after a pensioner was killed in a hit and run crash while walking with her granddaughter on a west London road.

The 68-year-old was hit on Boston Manor Road, Brentford, at about 16:00 GMT on Monday. Her seven-year-old granddaughter was not injured.

Attempts were made to help the victim, but she died at the scene.

Police said two men, aged 37 and 36, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They are in custody awaiting questioning.

The force said the woman was hit by a red Volkswagen Bora, which did not stop at the scene and was last seen driving north on Boston Manor Road in the direction of the A4.

It was later found abandoned in a car park on Boston Manor Road.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
