Man held over 1996 murder of Harminder Singh Jhaghra

A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 28-year-old man in west London in 1996.

The 36-year-old was arrested at Heathrow Airport on Monday by police investigating the murder of Harminder Singh Jhaghra, from Southall.

A a post-mortem examination showed he died from a severed artery after he was stabbed in the arm in a street fight in Hayes.

The man remains in custody at a south London police station.

The Metropolitan Police said a number of people were arrested in connection with the incident but all were released with no further action.
