Attack in London could leave woman blind in one eye

A 22-year-old woman may lose the sight in one eye after she was the victim of an unprovoked attack, police said.

The attack happened in the early hours of Sunday in New Oxford Street, at the junction with Bainbridge Street, outside Centre Point in central London.

The woman was assaulted by three men who then ran off towards Tottenham Court Road.

She was taken to a central London hospital where she is being treated for serious facial injuries.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.

Det Ch Insp Andrew Packer, of Camden CID, said: "This attack has left the victim with serious, long lasting injuries."
