Community event in Woolwich celebrates diversity
Hundreds of people are attending an event in Woolwich, south-east London, designed to bring the community together and celebrate diversity.
The Bishop of Woolwich is expected to attend the Youth Community Cohesion event in General Gordon Square.
One of the organisers, Florence Emakpose, said it was important to remind everyone of the strong community spirit in Woolwich.
Fusilier Lee Rigby, 25, was killed there in May.
Ms Emakpose said: "It's important that we have this event to bring the community together and celebrate diversity. We must maintain peace."
There will be performances from dance and music groups along with poetry readings at the event, which will run until 17:00 BST.
World of Hope, which helps to mentor, train and coach youth ambassadors, organised the event in partnership with Youth Rally Mission.
