The mother of a cyclist killed on a Cycle Superhighway in east London has said riding conditions there were "suicidal".

French student Philippine De Gerin-Ricard, 20, had been cycling home on Friday when she was hit by a lorry and died from multiple injuries.

Anna Boudet du Mochet, said her daughter never stood a chance and she wants changes to be made to the route.

A spokesman for the Mayor of London's office said the stretch of road where the crash happened had been earmarked as one that needs major improvements and his team were determined to ensure those changes were made.

BBC London's Special Correspondent, Kurt Barling, reports.
