Regent Street closed to fix 'temporary repair' sewer
Emergency repairs are being made to part of the sewer network on Regent Street in London's West End for the fourth time in three months.
Thames Water said permanent repairs were being made to the sewer after quick-drying concrete was used to temporarily repair it a few weeks ago.
The road southbound from Conduit Street to Piccadilly Circus is expected to be closed until at least 10:30 BST.
Eighteen bus routes will also be diverted during the road closure.
A spokesperson for Thames Water said: "We carried out repairs to a leak-detection chamber at the junction of Regent Street and Conduit Street a few weeks ago.
"Quick-drying concrete was used so that we could reopen the road as quickly as possible. We've now come back to complete a permanent repair using tough, long-lasting materials."
