Mehretab Zemichael sought over Whitechapel murder

Mehretab Zemichael Police want to speak to Mehretab Zemichael

Detectives are hunting a 42-year-old man in connection with a murder at an east London hostel.

The body of a man in his 40s was discovered at a building in Code Street, Whitechapel, at about 17.40 BST on Saturday.

The Metropolitan Police believe he was stabbed and want to speak to Mehretab Zemichael, who was last seen at the hostel in the early hours of Saturday.

Officers have warned the public not to approach the Eritrean national.

The force believes it knows the identity of the dead man but is awaiting formal identification.

A post-mortem examination has taken place.
