Morden betting shop attack victim named
A father-of-two who was killed in an attack at a south London betting shop has been named by police.
Andrew Iacovou, 55, was found dead at a branch of Ladbrokes in Aberconway Road in Morden at 10:30 BST on Saturday.
Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the attack at the shop, which is next door to Morden police station.
A post-mortem examination showed Mr Iacovou died from a blunt trauma to the head.
Officers were called by London Ambulance Service to reports of a man suffering serious head injuries at the betting shop.
Mr Iacovou was pronounced dead at the scene.
Det Ch Insp Nick Scola, from the Met's Homicide and Serious Crime Command, told BBC News the man was alone in the shop when his attacker walked in and forced his way behind the counter.
"At this early stage, it appears Mr Iacovou was attacked in the shop by a lone male suspect. It is not known at this time whether any money was taken.
"Members of the public should not approach the man and are advised to contact police immediately."
Mr Scola said the betting shop was next to a neighbourhood police office which was unmanned at the time of the incident.
