A robber has admitting killing a man who he stole £80 from in a west London street.

Terry Smylie, 27, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey to both the manslaughter of Michael Walser, 45, and theft.

Mr Walser was found dead at his home in Gloucester Terrace, Paddington in June, last year, five days after being attacked.

Smylie will be sentenced on 17 May.

Mr Walser had collected £150 from a Post Office when he was pushed to the ground and some of the money was taken from him.

A post-mortem examination showed he died from head injuries caused by the fall.

Acting Det Ch Insp Andy Manning said: "This was an unprovoked, senseless attack on an innocent man."
