Black taxi fares in the London area have risen by 1.7% - adding 21 pence to the average fare.

The increase came in on Saturday. Transport for London says it is the lowest rise in the decade it has licensed taxis.

The Licensed Taxi Drivers Association (LTDA) has described the increase as "about right".

Both organisations say the costs associated with running a taxi have gone up.
