Mayor calls London Assembly members 'invertebrate jellies'

London Mayor Boris Johnson has rejected calls to reverse his proposed council tax cut which opposition parties says will keep 12 fire stations open.

But when the opposition groups at the London Assembly declined to question him and tried to move to a debate and a vote on the budget, the mayor reacted angrily.

He called members "great, supine, protoplasmic invertebrate jellies".
