Police protection officer died from gun wound in Camden

A Metropolitan Police officer who was found dead at a property in north London, died from a gunshot wound to the chest, post-mortem tests found.

The 43-year-old was discovered on Tuesday at King's Terrace in Camden.

He was a PC who worked with the Met's Specialist Protection Command, which is part of Specialist Operations.

The death is not being treated as suspicious. An inquest will be opened at St Pancras Coroner's Court on Monday.

The Protection Command is made up of three units responsible for protection services for the Royal Family, ministers and public officials at threat from terrorism.
