Improve support for victims, Met told

The Metropolitan Police needs to "up its game" when it comes to dealing with the victims of crime, according to a London Assembly report.

One in six victims of crime were dissatisfied with the performance of the Met in 2012, the report states, making it the worst rated force in the country.

But the Met said victim support was a priority and all victims are offered a visit from an officer but the father of murder victim Peter Woodhams, from Newham, said he believed support for the victims of crime had worsened.
