Met Police's secret court hearing bid criticised
A solicitor representing women who claim they were tricked into having intimate relationships with undercover police officers, has criticised the Metropolitan Police for attempting to have their damages case heard in secret.
Eleven women are seeking damages for emotional trauma, following allegations specialist officers had relationships with members of protest groups they had infiltrated.
The Met wants a special tribunal to hear their cases in private and not a traditional court.
Solicitor Harriet Wistrich and Green Party MP Caroline Lucas are opposing the move.
