A man charged with the murder of a pensioner who was found dead at his home in west London has been remanded in custody.

Joseph Griffiths, 73, was found stabbed at his home in Hazlebury Road, Fulham, on Saturday morning.

Aaron De Silva, 20, of Warwick Road, Earl's Court, west London, has also been charged with aggravated burglary following the incident.

He was remanded when he appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

Mr De Silva will appear at the Old Bailey on 20 November for a bail hearing.

A post-mortem examination confirmed Mr Griffiths died from a stab wound.
