Bus worker Kenneth Martin says MBE 'better than winning lottery'

Help

Two bus workers have been awarded MBEs for the bravery they showed during last year's riots.

Kenneth Martin, a traffic controller for London Buses, helped passengers and drivers to safety.

Peter Middleton, an area controller for Arriva, directed buses away from the violence and kept services running despite being injured in the disturbances.

Mr Martin said collecting his honour was "better than winning the lottery".
