Seventeen fire stations in the capital could be closed with the loss of more than 600 jobs.

The London Fire Brigade is looking to save £65m over the next two years.

Mayor Boris Johnson has said that people would not be put at risk by any station closures.

Paul Embery, from the Fire Brigades Union, said it was the "biggest threat since the days of the Luftwaffe".
