Gemma McCluskie death: Severed head is soap actress's
Gemma McCluskie's headless and limbless body was found in Regent's Canal in March
A severed human head found in Regent's Canal in east London is that of former Eastenders' actress Gemma McCluskie.
The head was found near Kingsland Road, Hackney, by a member of the public at about 13:15 BST on Sunday.
In March, Miss McCluskie's decapitated torso was found near Broadway Market, less than a mile from where the head has been discovered.
The 29-year-old's head was discovered in a bag in the water by people cleaning part of the canal.
Ongoing searchesA post-mortem examination at Poplar Mortuary held on Tuesday did not give a cause of death. Further tests are being carried out.
The head was identified by dental records.
Police said all of Miss McCluskie's body has now been recovered, however there are ongoing searches of the canal for evidence in connection with the murder.
Miss McCluskie, of Pelter Street, Hackney, played Kerry Skinner in the BBC soap in 2001.
Her brother Tony McCluskie, 35, will stand trial in November charged with her murder.
