Man charged with murder and burglary over cleaner death

Police have charged a man with murdering a street cleaner who was stabbed in Shepherd's Bush, west London on Wednesday.

Roger Philip Buckingham, 30, of Bentworth Road, Shepherd's Bush, is accused of killing Piotr Mikiewicz.

He was also charged with a burglary in Rylett Road, Shepherd's Bush, possession of an offensive weapon and theft of a vehicle.

He will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Five other people arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been bailed to return to the police in October.

Mr Mikiewicz, 40, died on Thursday St Mary's Hospital in Paddington.
