Shepherd's Bush street cleaner death: Residents pay tribute

Residents in a west London road where a street cleaner was stabbed to death trying to stop a suspected burglar have paid tribute to him.

The 40-year-old victim, who was named by his employer as Piotr Mikiewicz, was stabbed in the chest in Rylett Road, Shepherd's Bush, on Wednesday. He died from his injuries at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, on Thursday.

Resident Fiona Horan and councillor Mark Loveday have paid tribute to the "local hero".
